Lost

I have been sick for more than a week now.. :(

The endless coughing makes me sleepless at night, and the meds I'm taking make being sleepless worse by making me throw up!

But this is merely little discomfort compared to what my Muslim brothers in Mindanao are experiencing...

I think the whole world have heard about the Ampatuan Massacre by now. In the international news they call it Philippines Massacre, in the local news its Maguindanao Massacre. And it's creating a very bad image for the Philippines and Maguindanao Province, which both don't deserve such reputation just because of one evil clan called the Ampatuans.

And now the death toll is 64.

Unspeakable evil. It's not even power-lust, it's monstrous. It's psychotic. It's sick. Even these words fall short of the evil they've done.

I wish for them justice equal to their evil, both in this life and the next. I wish for them the meanest punishment possible.

It could've been me, or one of my friends. As part of the media, we venture into danger zones with only courage for arms. We venture into death zones equipped only with prayers. The media victims aimed to document truth and hope. They did not fail.

Because the nation will make sure that their sacrifice shall be the end of tyranny, in that part of the country were hope never beamed before. They were buried deep using a backhoe. Their lives shall be the seeds where trees of change grow.
